WS2812 RGB Addressable LED with Arduino

Hello everyone,

This is today’s 20-minute fun project.
WS2812 is the most interesting LED IC on the market. It includes an addressing IC and RGB LEDs in a 5mm x 5mm package.
The IC accepts 24-bit (16 million) color codes.

You don’t need any extra LED driver or addressing module to drive it, just an Arduino.
The magic part is the rock-solid addressing system. You can connect a few hundred WS2811s on the same line and control each pixel separately with its own address.

This is the WS2812 LED strip control library for Arduino.

The sample code works flawlessly 🙂

If you want to make a color-changing night light or something similar, this is your hero. Just connect it and forget about other driver problems.

Have a nice weekend
